As is evident from the name Rudraksha, the tears of Lord Shiva. When the Lord Shiva after the death of Mother Sati was wandering all around the zodiac in pain and tears of Lord fell on the earth, wherever the tears fell the tree of Rudraksha came up. The beads and Rosary of Beads is worn to ward off many miseries of life and previous birth. One should wear it in the neck in Silver or God pendants. Before the sunrise certain mantras should be recited after wishing it with pure water and later with cow milk. The Mantra should be recited 108 times before wearing.
